Cactus Bike was founded in 2003 to meet the demands of the downhill biking customer. Founded by Michael Bennett, Dave Anciaux and Brian Anciaux, our company quickly grew to four bike shops, a rental and guiding company, Cactus Adventures, and a thriving internet and ebay business. Michael Bennett decided to head to British Columbia and enjoy some of the best mountain biking in the world and sold his portion of the business to Brian in 2005.
Our bike shops are located in Ahwatukee, Ocotillo, Santan Village in Gilbert, Pinetop during the summer, and, if there is space for us, Chandler Fashion Center during the Christmas/Holiday season.
The Ahwatukee shop was our first store and was tucked away, next to the South Mountain trails and the Pima Canyon trailhead. This store moved in September, 2006 to Elliot and 48th Street (between Safeway and Walgreens) which increased the space to 3000 square feet. The Ahwatukee store is still only 1/2 mile from the South Mountain trails and the closest store to South Mountain.
The Ahwatukee store continues to be our primary location for our downhill customers. It also houses our internet and rental business.
The Ocotillo store opened before Christmas, 2003 and continues to meet the needs of the Ocotillo and Sun Lakes communities with awesome cruisers, comfort, recumbent, BMX, kids and mountain bikes of all sorts from Kona, Giant, Haro, Transition, Electra and Nirve, We The People, DK, and Premium. Helmets for everyone, tubes of all sizes, tires to meet every need, computers, lights, hydration packs, BMX race gear and every accessory for your bike can be found in our 2000 square foot Chandler store.
Our newest store at the SanTan Village is 3,000 square feet and right next to Best Buy. We expect this store to grow to be one of our biggest and best.
Our store at the Chandler Fashion Center has moved around a bit over the years. Usually, we are at the mall only for the Christmas season. This last year, we stayed all year. We hope to be back again in December.
The Pinetop store is located at Krissie's Ski and Board Shop during the summer (from Memorial Day through Labor Day). This store supports Sunrise resort with quality downhill rentals.
Cactus Bike hires top quality mechanics who guarantee their work and who will gladly repair your bike for you or recommend the parts you may need to do it yourself if you wish. Because bikes are sometimes difficult to transport with the average family vehicle (and, frankly, who wants to anyway), Cactus Bike provides a delivery service. For a delivery fee, Cactus Bike will come to your home, pick up the bike that needs repair, fix it, and return it to you. Typically, we can have someone at your house within 24 hours and your bike back to you within just a day or two. No hassle, no mess, no fuss - nice and easy - so you can get back on your bike.
